Ben is a story maven – a repository of specialist knowledge. He connects ideas and sheds new light on old assumptions. He helps people find stories, improve them and bring them to an audience. He has collaborated with Yo Yo Ma’s Silk Road Ensemble, the ENO, the British Museum, numerous other heritage organisations and countless solo spoken word storytellers.
Ben is a story consultant – he supports animators, scriptwriters, illustrators, filmmakers, circus and theatre companies working with adaptations of folktales, fairytales, myth and epic to find stories, explore their variants, mend, combine and fix remarkable, often unheard stories, for contemporary audiences.
A performer, scriptwriter, and spoken word storyteller working at the top of his field, Ben has a superb sense of dramaturgy and can make informed, intelligent and deeply satisfying creative choices for shaping, recombining and adapting narrative material.
